Smart Locker 34

This project focuses on implementing the use of Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Inteligence (AI) etc. The aim was to improve efficiency, productivity and enhance user experiences while using lockers. The focuses worked on were improving easy allocation and monitoring of lockers, locker organisation and locking and unlocking of lockers.

With a fresh look, these new lockers provide systems for students and technical service officers to keep track of locker statuses. Internal organizations enables 2 users to adapts to a variety of objects put in.

STAKEHOLDERS AND THEIR OBSTACLES

The project involves two main stake holders:
Students and Technical Officers (TO). I drafted out emotion graphs and did surveys to crosscheck the painpoints.

PAIN POINTS (students)

• Locking and unlocking locker
• Distance
• Unorganised
• Mechanism
• Clearing the lockers

PAIN POINTS (TO)

• Students not clearing their locker on time
• Late allocation of lockers
• Difficulty monitoring locker status
• Maintenance

WHO'S USING IT? 50 CM TALL MODEL, HANDS ARE FULL

After also gathering information from online competitor research, my product would serve to improve the locker's interaction.

It largely revolves around monitoring lockers occupancy and distribution, compact organization for design models of various sizes for students sharing, and easy locking and unlocking when carrying these models especially bottom lockers which requires users to lower their body.

FROM OPENING, TO REARRANGING, PLACEMENT, AND LOCKING

Fragile and precious models from cement, to wood and paper, can the locker be ready for me to place it right away?  Incorporating IOT locking and unlocking methods could make it easier. Are lockers still in use? Maybe an app could provide convenient monitoring and allocation and monitoring..

I further explore methods on improving organization , new aesthetics and ways of keeping track of lockers.

EXTERIOR PATTERNS

The exterior of lockers should be in unison as they are placed as in sets. How could explore with different shapes that would provide cohesiveness?

MONITORING AND BOOKING APP DESIGN

Variations of the app students will use to book lockers, check on locker status and book out.

Technical officers can also have an overview on all lockers for classes and personal particulars as well.

Door also opens slightly after scanning to aid in opening (does not swing open, which might damage model if user is too close)
